Meet Emily, a passionate and dedicated vet who thrives in a busy, hands-on environment. With a strong background in customer care, teamwork, and time management, Emily is always ready to go the extra mile for pets and their owners.

Her love for animals goes beyond the clinic—Emily founded Trusty Paws Liverpool, a student-led initiative providing free veterinary care to the dogs of homeless and vulnerable individuals.

Emily’s caring nature, hard-working attitude, and commitment to animal welfare make her a fantastic addition to the Barney & Bella team. Whether she’s treating a poorly pup or giving advice to a concerned owner, she’s always focused on what’s best for pets and their people.

Emily is here to make a difference—one wag and purr at a time!

Aimee Collier

Veterinary Nurse

Aimee is a compassionate and confident Veterinary Nurse with a wealth of experience in both first-opinion and rehabilitation practices. Since earning her BSc in Bioveterinary Science, she has gone on to complete her RVN and SQP training, gaining hands-on experience in everything from patient care to rehabilitation therapy.

Her passion for animal welfare even led her to work with the Pet Blood Bank charity, where she developed valuable laboratory skills while helping to save countless lives. But for Aimee, veterinary nursing is about more than just medicine—it’s about building trust with owners and making every visit as stress-free as possible.

Calm under pressure and always ready to lend a helping hand, Aimee not only provides exceptional care to pets but also supports her colleagues, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for everyone.

Alice Holder

Veterinary Nurse

Alice is a hardworking, compassionate, and adaptable Veterinary Nurse who always puts the well-being of her patients first. With years of hands-on experience in primary care, referral, and out-of-hours (OOH) emergency work, she thrives in fast-paced environments and remains calm under pressure.

Her keen interest in medicine and emergency & critical care (ECC) drives her to continuously expand her knowledge, ensuring she provides the highest level of care to every pet she meets. From monitoring anaesthesia and triaging patients to educating owners on preventative care, Alice is dedicated to making a difference in both the lives of animals and their families.

Beyond her clinical skills, Alice is a true team player, always ready to support her colleagues and create a positive, welcoming environment. Whether it’s a routine check-up or an emergency situation, you can trust that Alice will be there with expertise, compassion, and a reassuring smile.

Hayley Warren 

Clinical Director

Hayley has been passionate about helping animals since qualifying as a vet in 2012. She started her career in small animal practice, working near Doncaster before returning to Leicestershire to a busy veterinary hospital. From the very start, she’s been closely involved with the RSPCA, working as a visiting vet for both Doncaster RSPCA and Woodside, before officially joining the Woodside team full-time in 2022.

With a further qualification in diagnostic imaging, Hayley has a keen eye for diagnosing and treating all kinds of medical conditions, making a real difference to the animals in our care.

Hayley will be leading the Barney & Bella team as Clinical Director, overseeing the care of both RSPCA Woodside animals and our wonderful clients at Barney & Bella. With her wealth of experience and deep passion for animal welfare, she is dedicated to ensuring every pet receives the best possible care.

When she’s not at work, you’ll most likely find Hayley outdoor swimming—she’s tackled some seriously impressive long-distance events, including an 8-mile swim! She also loves spending time in the countryside with her rescue dog, Nellie.

Amie Green

Veterinary Nurse

Amie has been dedicated to animal care since she began her veterinary career at just 17 years old. Over the years, she has gained a wealth of experience across different practice settings, eventually qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 2020. She initially worked in a mixed farm practice before joining Woodside, where she could focus on her true passion—providing medical care in a welfare-focused environment.

Amie is always looking to expand her skills, and she’s currently studying for a further qualification in Anaesthesia. She’s also a qualified Clinical Coach/Mentor, helping to guide and support student nurses as they develop their own careers.

Her expertise, calm approach under pressure, and dedication to patient care make her a great leader of our veterinary nursing team,

Amie will be leading the veterinary nursing team as Lead Veterinary Nurse for both RSPCA Woodside and Barney & Bella, ensuring the highest standard of care for every animal that comes through our doors. Her expertise, calm approach under pressure, and dedication to patient care welfare make her a great leader of our veterinary  nursing team.

Claire Harris

Practice Manager

Meet Claire, our dedicated Practice Manager who’s been part of the Woodside family since 2014. She started on reception, where she loved watching animals head off to their forever homes, before moving into admin, then operations, and finally stepping into her current leadership role.

Claire’s commitment to animal welfare goes beyond the workplace—while at Woodside, she fostered a little Chihuahua named Max, who quickly became part of her family.

With her caring nature, wealth of experience, and steady guidance, Claire helps keep things running smoothly behind the scenes—always with pets and their people at the heart of everything she does.
