At Barney & Bella, we believe every animal deserves a second chance — and that’s exactly what inspired the name of our independent veterinary practice in Leicester.
Let us introduce you to Barney and Bella — two beautiful souls who remind us, every single day, why we do what we do.
🐾 Meet Barney
Barney’s story began in heartbreaking circumstances. He arrived at RSPCA Woodside alongside 18 other dogs, all rescued from a hoarding situation. Severely underweight, covered in matted fur, and with no understanding of the outside world, Barney had never experienced love, safety, or even a simple walk on a lead.
Everyday sights and sounds were overwhelming. Socialisation was new and scary. But thanks to the expert care and gentle patience of the Woodside team, Barney slowly began to come out of his shell.
With time, consistency, and a whole lot of love, Barney regained his strength, found his confidence, and began to trust again. He reminded us that healing is possible — and that every pet, no matter their past, deserves a bright future.
🐾 Meet Bella
Bella’s journey started in the rain. Her mum was found alone, heavily pregnant and soaked to the bone. Thankfully, she was brought to RSPCA Woodside, where she gave birth in the safety and warmth of the shelter. Little Bella arrived healthy, curious, and full of potential.
Thanks to the care and kindness of the team, both Bella and her mum received the nourishment, vet treatment, and comfort they needed to thrive. Bella grew up safe, social, and loved — and went on to find a wonderful forever home.
